Securing a simple Visitors to Canada policy used to be needlessly frustrating. You had to set aside time during the workday, commute to a broker’s physical office, and sit through a formal appointment just to see what coverage options were available.
For us, it began like many Canadian families: we looked forward to welcoming our parents from overseas. Patritzia’s mother visited Canada in 2000. During her stay, she had a dizzy spell that required a visit to our family doctor. Because we had secured proper coverage, her claim was fully paid, reinforcing how vital this protection is. When Mladen’s mother planned to visit Canada in 2003, we knew from Patritzia’s mother’s visit exactly how important it was to protect her health and finances during her stay. However, the lengthy, tedious process of securing coverage again stood in the way.
With Mladen Alexiev’s background in investment and insurance and Patritzia Alexieva’s expertise in OHIP billing and insurance, we left that broker’s office convinced there had to be a better way. If navigating this system was that difficult for industry insiders, we could only imagine how overwhelming it was for someone who wasn’t. We decided to build the exact solution we had been seeking. In 2007, we helped pioneer a new approach, online brokering, by launching visitorsinsurance.ca.
The goal was simple: eliminate mandatory office visits and empower everyone to easily compare options and buy coverage from the comfort of their own home. Beyond convenience, our mission was to ensure that everyone using our platform received the same proper, unbiased help in finding protection we demanded for our own family.
What began as a family project has grown into a dedicated team that shares our commitment to making insurance simple and to caring for every client like family. Supported by the knowledge and experience of our licensed brokers and support staff, we have delivered on that promise every day for nearly two decades. Our goal was finally realized: families could securely compare and purchase visitor coverage online, eliminating the hurdle of mandatory office visits.
2008
Easy Links Financial Inc. was officially incorporated
The family project became a formal, long-term commitment to transforming how Canadians buy insurance.
2009

2010

2011
One of the first brokerages to offer Super Visa Insurance
When Canada introduced the Super Visa for extended family visits, we understood how meaningful it was to families hoping to reunite. We wanted to ensure families could meet application requirements from day one, without stress.
2013
Became a proud member of the Travel Health Insurance Association of Canada (THiA)
Joining THiA enabled us to support the Travel Insurance Bill of Rights and Responsibilities and to advocate for clear, fair standards for all travellers.
2021
We launched extendedhealth.ca
The COVID-19 pandemic reshaped how the world viewed health and safety. Seeing that coverage was just as critical at home as it was away, we launched extendedhealth.ca to help Canadians access vital health and dental insurance easily.
2026
Introduced Digital Wallet Cards for Visitors to Canada and travel insurance
